First decision time...

OK guys, first service yesterday a couple of days short of the mid-point in my 4 year PCP. Always agreed from this point on I would monitor options and change when it suits the budget.

Think they are very keen to shift 3 series models before the LCI and I fancy the 330d Touring M Sport xDrive. LCI mild so doesn't concern me and guess any impending switch would mean next change in line with completely new model. They have one in stock but it hasn't got a few of the options I really want, but they said if I want to spec. one up they can still do something (i see this as major advantage of a new car).

Fully specced up is ~£45k list price. Anyone any idea what % discount i can reasonably expect to push for as a credible target? Any recent examples?

As long as my current car is in equity (which it seems it could be as they got the settlement), I can add maybe £2.5k in as a deposit and assuming 35% MGFV and a decent interest rate I could be tempted.

Help and input MORE than welcome....

Should see upto 25% off that if you push. Try Riaz & TRL for the best deals as both are worth the drive (Watford & Heathrow)

Thanks. Prefer just dealing with local dealership though but if I have an idea of a credible take it or leave it offer I can come up with then i'm happy. As it is i've no idea how much is realistic for me to use as a discount in my target.

Of course I would also have the ~£30/month extra in my pocket from lower fuel costs.

You'll get 10k off that - if not no deal.

In that case it's starting to sound like a pre-facelift deal is a wise move.

A Deal On A 335I May Be Even Better As The Car Becomes Obsolete At LCI, the 330D Engine Remains Unchanged.

Also look at the 335d, might not be much more.

why not wait until the LCI is announced as the deals will be even better in the time between the LCI being announced and the LCI going on sale?

Will I not risk an inability to spec. my car up then? May be that they have no more production dates left of current versions and it'll be down to shifting ready built stocks?

why not just wait for LCI, it doesn't make much difference to the price.

Really? I thought they seemed much more keen to shift them ahead of that.

Only old stock once the LCI has been announced.

Are you sure? It may be less than you think it would be.

Last few cars i've tended to average a couple of mpg above the quoted urban figure (perhaps a bit higher than that for my only diesel) and comparing on that basis although not using the +2mpg for the 330d and adjusting the fuel allowance i get for part of my mileage i'm getting +£353pa (and slightly lower tax).

Have to admit i'm more confused than ever now though. I am also tempted by an S3 Sportback, but fear the fuel costs would start to frustrate - hence the 330d option of performance and decent economy.

Mpg might not be a huge difference but with tax allowance etc it might work as you said. I know that 330d sdrive is better on mpg than 335d but my average is about 36-37 mpg over 14k miles on variety of different trips including spiritual driving on Autobahn (130-155mph). Not bad I would say but nowhere near the factory figures.

Unless you can get 25% or above don't bother.

The 330d xdrive touring is excellent, however if not doing much mileage on each trip, then go for 335i, some good deals on them.

Regarding the LCi or pre LCI, I recently looked at the 1 series, the LCI version gave lower monthly amounts with higher GFV for same deposit.

As mentioned try RiazC and TRL for quote on what is possible.

Also remember to sort what options you want as well and then get quote.

So stuff like, Pro Media, Adaptive lights, HUD, Msport +, ACC etc.

Are you sure the 330d will be unchanged? It never has been on LCI/facelift models before!?

Yes, 330d will remain unchanged at LCI, though the future of 6 cylinder diesels will see the addition of AdBlue to lower emissions further.
