"No Signal"
What happened? It rebooted itself and seems fine, so what would cause it to not get a signal? Is that the system not getting a GPS signal, or is the screen not getting a signal from the system, or something else? |

Display failure... either the display itself is defective or the iDrive unit is not sending the video signal.

No Signal means the display is fine, but the iDrive computer has crashed. If its not a temporary thing ie if the computer doesn't reset itself then the iDrive computer needs to be replaced. Happened to me back right before Thanksgiving.

Has happened to me also a few times.
Told the dealer to check when I was in for some other warranty stuff earlier, but they couldn't find anything wrong. No errors was recorded in the system. They told me it could happen sometimes, especiallay when moving in and out tunnels. |

I've had this happen twice. Once was a really cold morning right after starting the car, radio came on then went silent and iDrive seemed to reboot. Second time I was talking over BT, got that same screen then iDrive rebooted about 2 mins later and seems okay now. There was maybe a 2 week gap between the two instances. To be fair, it's been averaging -22c here over the last month so I can't blame the car too much lol

This happened to me 2 or 3 times in the last couple of years. Oddly enough, it happened in the same location at the same time of day. I wouldn't be able to replicate it to the dealer, and it happens so rarely that I'm not in a rush to have it fixed.

I just ran a scan, and the car is throwing a few codes. No idea whats related and what isn't, because BMWs always seem to be throwing some sort of codes.

smithf32 Do you happen to think those codes with the rear electronics module might be something you turned off trying to get the LEDs to not throw codes? Maybe BL-L and BL-R means Brake Light Left and Right?

Mike those are most likely the stored codes from when it saw them as out before I got the code for the bulb error correct. If you clear all codes they should not come back. I would recommend clearing all codes as there are probably some shadow codes from the bulb errors when we were coding

I'll clear those 2, but i don't want to clear the others before the dealer sees them tomorrow.

Okay, dropped the car at the dealer. They say they should have an answer by Monday or, more likely, Tuesday. Stuck in a stripped 320xi. I miss my cameras and Nav.
