Rotten egg smell in the cabin

I got the smell coming out of the vents once in a while. Since I owned the car since Nov 2014 I had this happen 3-4 times now. I searched but don't see anyone complaining before.

I used to own an audi long time ago and I remember this exact situation with that car but it was old, no warranties of any kind so I never bothered to find out what it is as it didn't really happen that often and only temporary.

What could it be? Anyone had this happen? I'd like to have a bit more info before I ask the dealer to check it out.

Well dude, if you had a car of different brand and had the same smell you have on the current one, the only way to fix it is to stop driving through Taco Bell every night.

Usually the Rotten Egg smell comes from the Catalytic converter. Sometimes when you go W.O.T. It gets that smell. Mine use to once in a while, But now that smell is gone (No Cat) Lol

Wish it was that easy to fix

Possibility. I may have heard someone mention that before. So could this be a leaking catalytic in the downpipe?

Cabin air filter maybe? I used to have this smell when I started the car but once I changed the air filter, I didn't have this issue anymore

I had this problem when I had an 02 sensor go out after my DP install. Would smell like rotten eggs after drving the car...one possibility.

Seriously I feel your pain man. My car is at the dealer while they try to track down some funky oil/ gas/ fluid smell that nauseates during the first minute or so of running the climate system.

Not sure if you garage your car or not, but regardless...

It's cold (obviously) and animals and little critters will seek any warmth they can... possible something crawled into air cabin or engine somewhere and died...

Also can check the air cabin filter area.
