Got salt?
The winter has been brutal in VT and people say they're not salting the roads enough (since there's a record number of accidents, mostly to people driving too fast for conditions but that's another story)
I suspect they are indeed salting the roads, as evidenced by how much has piled up in my garage, underneath where I park. That's not snow. (the dividing swaths are from melting slosh on my car going down the pitch to the drain in my garage floor) Notice footprints for depth. From lower left corner to upper right corner of the picture is pretty much the length of my car. E9X content? I still don't see a single spec of rust on my car, after 6 winters up here - at least on any visible outer panels or in the wheelwells. I'm sure there's some on the underside. Does anyone have visible rust on their car?

Take a close look at your rear subframe. I bet that thing has lots of surface rust. Most of the car is very well painted and/or uses aluminum anyways.
