Hi I have pro sat nav on my 2014 F32 can I get Google to come up on the screen as a search engine if you know what I mean

If you've specced the Internet option (£95 extra) then you should be able to. But it's dependant on a 3G signal from the internal SIM, and I'd suspect your phone is likely to be significantly quicker!

Run the VIN through BMWarchive.org. It will show the options on the car.

Wonder if I can get the internet in the US? It was never offered here. Shawn? Scott?

I believe it is possible but not recommended if you have working BMW assist. It's one of those things that has proven to be a rain pain for people to figure out.

I assume we are talking about the full browser, since people confuse these terms. I do not have BMW Live but I still have access to Weather, Gas Price Finder, all of those other little online things that go thru the car's 3G connection.

Oh. I have a working Assist, so I guess it stays off.

I have the weather and other little BS stuff, but no browser also. It all seems kinda useless though.

Yeah, I can't imagine myself even fumbling around with some in-car browser when I could use my phone and be 1000x quicker.

I could do it, if there was a way to make a mouse and keyboard work through the USB port. Trying to "type" with the iDrive, even the touch, would be a nightmare. Used to do it with my Audi, which could also be used as a hotspot. Saved me money because I lowered the data service on my phone way down to 200MB/$15 a month instead of 2 Gigs and $50.
