Upgrading 328i F30 speakers
what's up Dudes and Dudettes.
What are the size limits for our door speakers? kinda saddens me, I've been collecting a speaker system for my civic and here are the parts I currently have. 2 pairs of Focal 165 isc http://www.cartoys.com/isc-165 and a Rockford fosgate P3 10'' subwoofer will these fit our car? I don't want to get rid of the speakers >.< If i do have to replace them.. what size do I need to look for and how many?

Thanks. Even with stock speakers, not hk, how many speakers does our car actually have? What are all the sizes?

Charlie,
There are dozens of threads floating around, on the f30 and e90 forums that will give you a starting point for any upgrades. If you have HiFi, you have 9 speakers. Front doors (mid and tweet), evil Center Channel on the dash, two 8" subs under the front seats and then mids in the back doors. The mids are shallow 4" speakers. The amp is very weak and lives in the back-left corner of your trunk and does a lot of EQ'ing that most folk find annoying. Spend some time and browse through the threads we've written as we've dealt with our HiFi speaker systems, set yourself a max budget for upgrades, and then you'll have an idea of what you can and cannot do. There are no cheap, quality solutions for improvement...but there are some solutions that aren't TOO expensive. |
