Synapse BOV just went really quiet this weekend, What to check?

It still releases a little "whoosh" but nothing like it used to,

Its absolutely freezing outside so I need to get it on and off the car asap,

Anyone have an idea what could be up with it?
Car drives smooth no stutters,
Buts slower I feel than it should be under boost,
I checked the obvious, /Vacuum lines or if anything had come off,

and heres a weird question, at idle, if you feel directly in front of the bov
Should I feel air coming out of that? Or it that normal?

You shouldnt feel air coming out of the BOV on idle
Synapse have not been a reliable BOV for our cars which made lots of Manufacturers stop offering them with their charge pipes.
I recommend calling synapse,if they cant help you get another BOV ( HKS or Tial)

I'm gonna follow this as I have the Synapse as well. I can tell you for sure that air comes out of mine at idle. After I put it on I was freaking out about this so I did some research and found that this is absolutely normal for air to come out at idle. Check out the video.

Yup wasn't the little spring inside the valve or the larger spring,
No broken parts I can see,
Can't find a vacuum or boost leak, Anyone else have any idea's why it went quiet on me?

Funny how the video says, blows air out under load on the freeway. That would be a boost leak.

Still a lot quieter than before with no explanation.

I even tried emailing synapse, They responded with "check the small spring and if its broken take it out"

they never replied to any of my follow up emails saying its still quiet so I'm at a loss

Wow that's crazy. I was out driving the car today and it's just as loud as it was new. Iv'e only had it on about 3 months now. How long has it been since the install?

I bought it used so I'm not sure how many total miles on it,

But there doesn't seem to be many parts inside it so it must be something I've missed or overlooked

All seals and O-Rings are fine, no broken springs,
Really has me scratching my head

You have a boost leak. My guess is one of your intercooler pipes, or charge pipe, etc. came loose or popped off altogether.

Yes, you can have a massive boost leak and still not throw a CEL...ask me how I know.

Embarrassingly enough I believe this was a boost leak,
I took off the chargepipe and cleaned all fittings, Put a new throttle body O-Ring on and reseated the synapse valve to the CP,

Seems like its got its sound back, I'm awaiting a boost gauge from ECS so I'll know what kind of numbers I'm making rather than the gauge hijack from the JB4 but I'm pretty sure I found it even though there was nothing obvious when removing the chargepipe,

I guess just re-seating it all back together helped?

Get a USB cable for the jb4. Logs will help much more than a boost gauge. You can see if you are hitting target.

I agree. So I'm thinking whatever charge pipe he had was simply not seated well and or not tightened enough. That is likely why it works better now.

These two links should help. You can always email terry for feedback on a log. It is pretty straight forward but if you have any questions just ask.
