If you wait long enough it will go away on its own, I forget what the timeout on it is.

It can be coded so that it just doesn't come on at all.

I'm just glad our navi units let us still input directions on the fly unlike US carmakers.

Sometimes it goes away on its own immediately but other times not. I know it can be coded, gonna wait for a coding meet.

It's not just US--my old Lexus and my wife's Mazda (both Denso systems) don't let you enter destinations, or dial the phone keypad for that matter, while in motion.
