How much is my 330D MSport worth? - she's going to be for sale v soon

Hi All

I'd appreciate some guidance.

I need to reluctantly sell my e90 330D M Sport as i need a bigger car...

Some of you in the forum will recognise her..

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=745207

So here's the low down

2007 BMW 330D M Sport

6 Speed Manual

64K miles
Full Service History with all the stamps and loads of paper work. She's recently had a full service and also the ABS pump and DSC module replaced at a cost of nearly £1800!

the MOT was passed yesterday with nothing but one advisor on the limit coming close on the tread of the rear offside tyre.

She is mapped to 277 BHP and goes like hot snot with the 6 speed manual.

K&N direct air filter replacement.

Upgraded 19" CSL type wheels - they have some wear on the edges and they will be professionally refurbished by the time it gets sold.

She has the BMW Professional SAT Nav

Its a genuine M Sport with all the usual spec (doesn't have XENON head lights)

You can read the bits I did when I got the car in the link above but the highlights are:

BlackLine LED Type rear lights which cost me a mint from Germany

Side LED repeaters and LED bulbs in the front side lights

The boot has a lip (M3) and the roof has a spoiler (AC Shcnitzer)

The window wind guards are easily removed.

I've never shyed away from any expense on this car and she is my pride and joy but I need a bigger car for work and my expanding family.

I have no idea what she is worth... any ideas?

Looks stunning mate,

I had my 56 plate up for sale recently with 73k miles and similar spec except auto in sgm with black leather

Put it for 9k with no interest, trader had it up for 10k for a week with no interest but i pointed someone to the trader today and it sold

Id say around 9k but look around before placing ad and price accordingly

Hold out for a strong price. Id say 11k. Rare to see examples with nice mileage and a great spec. Stay patient, it's a lot of car for the money.

Also worth placing ads elsewhere like others have on auto trader etc, i was in no rush to sell and only advertised here and gumtree... I did not find much interest on here and eventually sold via my month old gumtree ad

Thanks for all your constructive help guys. So anything between 9-11K no less than 8.5K

Thanks for all the kind comments too. It will be a sad day when she goes.

I think im going to advertise on Autotrader, here, gumtree and on Pistonheads. I might even put a cheeky ad in the rear window.

I'm going to be in no rush to sell her.

If you put it on gumtree be prepared for offers of £6000.00, that site seems to attract some right k__b ends, when i was selling my E60 i was getting offered between £2000/2500.00 under asking price..it properly did my head in selling on there..

With that mileage i'd def hold out for £8500.00 minimum

Understood.

She's back from the valet this morning and apart from said kerbing on the wheels she is glorious!

The mileage is fully known. My mate owned her before me and all he did was drive it 60 miles a day on the motorway. When he picked it up it hadn't done hardly any!

why would you try and do the cheapest option of listing an 8k+ car on the free websites?

not taking dig or anything but what puts me off is these cars on gumtree and not ebay / autotrader / pistonheads. if seller cannot doesnt want to pay money to list there car i do not look twice.

if you put it on autotrader or ebay you could of got more money sooner

Low mileage examples fetch top money. Saw a 56 plate 325d sport sell 2 weeks ago for 9k. Only had leather as an option but only done 40k miles too.

Are you against me as you really are doing my nut in and commenting on everything i say, i bloody sold the car via gumtree for full asking price of 9k!

Hence why i gave the advice, i even met the buyer who was proper genuine and very particular about his cars including the m5 he owns

Op will obviously list where he pleases, i am just passing my advice

If it helps I just sold my 320D M Sport (69k) privately via AT for £7,250 (asking price was £7,350 which I could have got but it was a straightfoward deal with 1st viewer)

Details of mine are in the Classifieds here so just to-up the bits on yours i.e. 330 vs. 320, spec etc and should give you a rough idea mate

I only advertise here and on AT (6 week ad for £50 ish)

In the past when I have used PH and Ebay I only got idiots wasting my time - never used Gumtree either for buying or selling

Bought a 13 plate 1 series from PH a few weeks ago - am convinced the seller would have got more money on AT as its a wider market - but his loss my gain

Thanks for all the constructive comments.

The USP's I would use to try and get a good price would be

It's a 330d manual
The mileage
The service record and the list of things that's been done to it (just because)
The last major service (last autumn) left no stone unturned
The remap
The wheels (yes I know you can go and do it yourself but i did and they are already done for whoever buys it)
It's proffessionally valeted each month, every 6 months it's been hi def polished and clay bared.

Anyway the new one comes next week. As soon as I have that I'll get the wheels done and then start advertising it.

Garage List
2011 M3  [0.00]
£9000-9500 is probably the top end.

Value wise...
Pros
  • Decent mileage
  • Ok spec
  • Nav
Cons
  • No Xenons
  • 8 years old
