*** Remote Start Omegalink OS-RL-BM1 Group Buy

Please read as this info is being updated often enough....

Just wondering if there is any interest in a group buy for the Omegalink OS-RL-BM1. It works on various BMW and Mini models.

Check the site out for more info.
http://www.omegaweblink.com

It's a plug and play system. There are no wires that need to be cut for BMW.

Use's existing BMW key fob. Whatever your current range is with your key fob will be your range for Remote start. If your can unlock your car while you are in your house, then you can remote start from your car from your house. Push lock Button 3x to operate. I have about 150ft on mine. Range Extenders are available to extend the range to 1500 ft.

Installation takes about 20min.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ONLY. Does not work Manual Transmission. Sorry!

So here are the details:
List price is $749.
On sale for $550.

Group Buy price $499. It includes everything you need to make it work.
BM1 Remote Start
USB Loader with credentials to access the website (Included. Normally $50)
Installation video for the E90 series.
Detailed Installation instructions
Tech support
Shipping

You can add Range Extender if you need extended range to 1500 ft.
Options available from $52 to $199 from two, four button and Smartphone interface.

Currently there is total of about seven people. I have posted this group buy on two sites to reach the required minimum. E90post & Bimmerpost. Once there are total of minimum ten people ready to buy. Then I can email the seller the buyers contact info. At that point the seller would contact you directly. If you have any questions you consult the seller.

Seller will send you an invoice via PayPal. Payment would be made via PayPal. So as a buyer we would have Buyers protection through PayPal. Buyer will wait till all ten orders are placed and then ship all the units out.

From what I can tell shop is reputable and they know their stuff. I have talked to the owner few times, he is knows his stuff and responds quickly.
I hope this covers it.

Yes there may cheaper alternative, but this is plug and play setup using your existing key fob so let's keep it simple and post only if interested.

Let me know if you are interested and I will update the list. Once I have more info I will update this post.

Group buy list.

What else would I need for it to be installed on a manual transmission equipped E90?

I'd buy 2, to bump the group buy, but it doesn't seem to work on neither of my cars... too bad.

Does it monopolize your ODB port? I already have a P3 gauge.

Don't waste your time with the install video - I went to the trouble of registering for the forum, only to find out that the install video's are restricted & got the message:

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS SECTION CONTENT, ACCESS CAN ONLY BE GRANTED TO VERIFIED 12VOLT INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS. YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO READ THIS FORUM

You need to fill out other forms proving you are an install shop & request access...

Here is a link to the Install Guide:

http://cdncontent2.idatalink.com/corporate/Content/Manuals/RS-BM1/OEM-IDS(RS)-BM1-[OL-RS-BM1]-EN_20150121.pdf

Info claims that mechanical install is 20min - that may be true if you have CA, however, if you don't, it appears you will need to cut off some of the supplied connectors, & wire each appropriate lead to factory wiring going to connector X14261 on module under DS kick panel.

Maybe it would be possible for OP to post up an authorized link to the install video's???

Even if it did, there are inexpensive OBD Splitters available, pre-made, that will efficiently split your OBD port into (2) available connections.

Ahh interesting. Some fellow that coded my car early on that meets up with folks in the NJ area just sent me the info on the remote start. I'm not certain if it's the same manufacturer.

I deleted the email since then, but on days like this I won't lie...I've been considering it.

I called the vendor and they could not provide me details on the install unless I was a reseller or installation shop...

I want this but getting unmotivated by the day

The install is pretty easy. I removed mine once to sell it, but put it back in. You need to program it, in which I have no idea how. You can probably pay a shop (that's authorized to install these) an hour of labor. $600 total is a much better deal than the $800 installed that I got.

There are no wires that need to be cut for BMW. Only Mini Countryman & Paceman would require it.
