VRSF vs BMS DCI, same results?
I don't know the schematics on either but I see many here favor the BMS DCI, and I see that VRSF sells theirs for about $40 cheaper and I'm just wondering if there is that much of a performance difference in the two to justify the extra money? To the naked eye, they both look like they'd do the same exact thing, but I've noticed when people mention that they have done DIY Autozone intakes they get kinda frowned upon for not going BMS.. Whenever I searched I just kept getting results for VRSF downpipes and that got annoying, so just figured I'd ask.. Thnx

My personal feeling is that slapping on a couple of cone filters where the housing was is a bit ghetto for a BMW. I will be buying an intake and when I do, it will be a 'pretty' one, to go with the car. I want the aFe magnum dual dry intake. Admittedly its 3 times the price of the BMS, and probably does not provide even .1 of an hp more power than the BMS, but hey its still less than 400 bucks and it really looks good...
By the way, where I'm looking (VRSF and BMS official sites respectively), they are the same price for the VRSF and BMS simple dual cones (95 bucks). |

But yeah I was going to get this Injen intake because it just looks way nicer, but from what I'm told it limits my choices of BOV that I can use..! |

Just about every DCI performs the same. Just brand preference. BMS uses an S&B filter, I'm not sure exactly who makes VRSF filters but I'm sure Tiago wouldn't use anything under the standard.

If you REALLY want a fancy intake, check out the Trueform Technologies Inlet System.
How's that for sexy?

Are the TFT inlets seriously $1,500? Oof.
Just buy Tony's silicone ones. Better heat rejection, maintains stock routing (no moving anything around), will keep better vacuum on the crankcase (0% chance the heater hose being that long is going to pull effective vacuum). I'm excited to see customer results from all these inlet revisions. Seems like that's the rage right now.

Yeah, $1499, though there's rumors of a group buy coming in April that should lower the price "significantly".

The debate between VRSF and BMS DCI is negligible, just pick your favorite company to represent.
TFT inlets are pretty cool but I'm not sure how much that price point will hold up. They need to send that out for mass production and get the cost down. |

We'll have a cost effective solution for a shorter intake for those who don't mind relocating the vacuum canisters and coolant overflow tank. Just gotta finish up this exhaust first. |
