335is clutch

i am going to the BMW dealership on friday to buy a new 335is clutch (p/n: 21207603248) for my 2012 e92 n55. before i get it though i just wanted to verify if anyone has actually done the swap with a n55 yet?

Also my car only has 20k miles do you think i should be fine with my current flywheel? the stock clutch still holds fine under normal driving but after going WOT from a stop it starts to slip, thats why iam upgrading.

Thank you for any info.

I have a FBO n54 that i installed an IS clutch on not to long ago at about 48k and my fly wheel was fine. Ps might be cheaper to get the oem clutch from ecstuning mine was under $400 not sure what the dealer charges.

My 335is clutch kit came in today at work. Should be installing sometime this week. Compared it to a stock 135i N55 clutch kit and all the bolt and dowel holes line up. Honestly they look identical except for the part number. Just stiffer springs on the 335is pressure plate.

I'm in same situation...been tuned w Cobb v3 getting a slip.....I'm at 70k....going with 335is clutch but how do I know what to bring to mechanic besides that. Most of all the flywheel....can I get away and have it work longterm w stock flywheel and only pay 400 for the clutch kit ...or do I need a new flywheel and if so how much are they and what's the best fit to to w that clutch thanks

I'm running the 550 clutch kit with no issues. Make sure you break it in for 500 miles after install.

No telling how the flywheel will be until you pull the clutch off. Different driving styles will mean different wear. At 20k miles you should be fine. At 60+k miles it could be iffy if you tend to slip the clutch a lot.

Hey guys it took me a little longer than i thought it was going to for me to get the clutch, i have been super busy. but just some advice for you all that i didnt know was you can haggle with the BMW parts reps. they originally wanted 580 for the 335is clutch kit. i told them that i could get it online from a specific websit for 391 and they dropped thier price down to 399. got it the next day!

i havent installed it due to currently being out to sea again. but in a few weeks when i get back i will be putting it in. i just wanted to know what tourqe you guys used for the pressure plate bolts and the bellhousing bolts.

thanks again for your guys help, i am excited to get this put in then going and upgrading from my pure stage 1 to a stage 2!

Your flywheel will be fine.

I replaced mine around 80,000 (previous owner clearly wasn't great at driving a stick) and using the old flywheel was not an issue.

Yes I have done the swap recently, last month. Yes your stock dmf should be good til about 80k-100k miles.

Bellhousing bolts vary from each other. There are like 3 different torque spec. Each spec is torqued to a specific number then a certain degree more like 30, 45 or 60/90 degrees. Same goes for the pressure plate bolts.

The Bentley manual has the specs.
