Mirror doesn't rotate down anymore...

Guys:

I have 2011 335d, with 14k, and only 1k under my belt. The passenger-side mirror would always rotate down in reverse. I had it coded a month ago, and the mirror was fine afterwards. No CEL, and hasn't been serviced yet.

Solutions?

Thanks

It doesn't work at all or just when reversing? If at all, probably broke one of the plastic brackets.

If only when reversing, not sure, but have you had the car serviced? They usually reset co codings to default.

are there any service lights in your dash when you start the car? try holding the BC button down on your turn signal stalk and use the switch to navigate the menus to see if there is a warning light on.

You may have adjusted the right side at some point and left the switch there. It has to be set on the left in order to flip down on the right in reverse

Sometimes you don't want it to tilt down, so this lets you control it.

I just figured this out the other day and it's a great feature, I sometimes didn't want it to go down and now I can choose when and where I want it to it's great!

If you're reversing and you need to make sure you don't hit something at trunk level on your passenger side, the tilting down feature would not help you obviously.

it weeds out those who read the manual and those who did not.

This thread totally explained why my mirror wasn't tilting a couple days ago and is tilting again now. Was teaching the wife stick and messed with the mirrors.
