Found a salvaged 08 328i, what to take for CCC retro?

I found a 328i sedan that's being parted out.. It has full navigation but it's CCC, however I'm thinking if I can snag a whole bunch of still to make my NBT retro easier, what all can I use from this car?? I have a E92 and from what I understand I can use any E90 or E92 dashboard to put navigation in my non idrive E92.. The guy told me for a veryyyy low set price I can take what I want he just wants it gone, haha so I don't wanna pass this up!!

Thanks!

I'd say get the dash. Ask him if you could cut wires from it as well. Take wires for the controller, and for power to your new display.. Longest you can get. NBT controller will have more than the 4 wires required for CIC/CCC controllers tho.

Well I've contemplated on just doing CIC but it sounds like the NBT setup is significantly better then CIC, but I mainly just wanted to make sure it was compatible since its an E90 and I have an E92. And if it was, maybe someone who's done the retro can chime in on exactly what I need..

Thanks!

You could get everything he has. Do the retrofit using the CCC system. Then when its done you can change the connector ends and install either CIC or NBT without taking the dashboard off.

Find booster's idrive retrofit guide on here. It goes into detail what you need and what has to be done.

If you can get everything cheap enough, thats what i would do. You can sell the CCC system when your done and get 200-300 maybe more.

I completed the retrofit. I got the following from the donor car.

Dashboard
Headunit pigtail
Video cable (specific to navi version)
Controller knob pig tail
Headunit dashboard mounting bracket
Mounting Hardware
Center speaker grill
Hvac trim
Headunit trim
Center console trim
Idrive controller knob

Dont forget you also need:
Fakra extension cable (trunk to headunit)
Video cable for CIC or NBT or CCC
Glovebox usb port for CIC/NBT
Map dvd or software
Coding cable

Awesome tips brother! For the bottom items are those only needed for the CIC / NBT swap, or CCC as well?

Funny that when I sent the complete list he wants to jack the price way up, but we'll see what I can get'm down to.. I wonder what's a good price to ask, for all that stuff.. Do you think $1k is to much for a CCC setup..???

I would also say there is a chance this retro might not work at all. I would think the entire wire harness for inside the car is different.

Fakra extension cable (trunk to headunit)
- needed for any idrive retrofit

Video cable for CIC or NBT or CCC
-you buy video cable specific to model installing. Find part number for CCC, NBT, or CIC

Glovebox usb port for CIC/NBT
-only for CIC & NBT. Same for both

Map dvd or software
-Model specific

Coding cable
- needed for sure

Its been done before. Ive done it. And alot of other people have done it. Theres a very good diy on here. It covers dissasembly, wiring, install, various part #'s. He does it exactly how it would have been done from the factory (wiring it in).

Did you experience any misaligned parts, rattles, missing screws, etc??
