Question Good Lease Rate?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if this sounds like a fair lease rate to you:

325xi, manual, xenon, Power Seats/Memory, Sirius, ColdWeather, CA, mud flaps, floor mats.... red/tan leatherette.... includes taxes, lic, sec. dep. (Westchester NY, 36mo, 15k/year), $580/mo.

Never leased and getting nervous as I've read so many conflicting posts... Thanks for the help!!!!!

Difficult to say without knowing all of the details (Purchased price, Residual, MF, etc.).

FYI my payment for the car below is abotu $80 more.... The MFs for the 330xi (0.00225) are better than the 325xi (0.00250). You may end up getting a "similiarly" equiped 330xi for only slightly more a month. The MFs for the 330i (0.00195) are MUCH better than the 325xi to the point you could probally get a well equiped 330i for the same money (consider your true need to AWD since they do command a premium).

If all of that makes no sense, then check out www.leasecompare.com. They explain what alot of this means.

Also, you can find to "base rates" from BMWFS for Janruary here:

No flame intended here but you cannot lease a vehicle unless you totally understand the way that it is calculated. You may as well walk into the dealership and hand over your checkbook and the KY jelly. I am continually amazed by the people that lease (not just BMWs) without knowing any of the details and then wonder if it was a good deal or not. Luckily you are asking first.

We need to know the following: MSRP of your car inc. destination, your negotiated 'buy' price, what you plan to give as a down payment (should be close to ZERO) and your state tax rate. Reply with that and I'll give you a number.

Also, there is a good basic lease calculator here: http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm

He is 100% correct. Give me everything including buy price, MSRP, how many miles a year you drive, and you county tax rate in NY. The county is very important because in NY the tax differs county to county. I will calculate a lease for you and make sure they aren't marking up the bank fee or playing any games. Im in sales for BMW in Flemington NJ and dont mind helping.

What is the big deal about putting extra money down on the car? It is the same amount one way or another. In some cases people simply want the lower payment. So if you put $10k down on a lease then you basically making part of you payments in advance and maybe getting some piece of mind.

Or is there some other important reason that I have overlooked?

Thanks!

If your car is totaled when you pull out of the dealership driveway, or stolen that night out of the garage, you can kiss that ten grand good-bye.

Plus, you can put the money you would have used for the CCR in a CD, money market or something more aggressive.
