Out Of Cycle Oil Change Cost
Wondering what people are paying for additional non maintenance plan oil changes. Figure they should be close in price to the regular 3/4 series since to my knowledge they all use 5w30 Shell now and not the heavier 10w60 as the previous M models.
I also assume the new M's use the same type of filter kit as the regular 3/4 series models also. If there is a premium just because its an M model, I can deal with that but I am hoping there isn't. |

I'd imagine it's the same price as regular n55 3/4's It's the same oil and filter as you said, but early cars require the drain plug be replaced. Newer ones have a standard drain plug with a replaceable crush ring. The plug is like $20.

That's reasonable.
Mine just tried to hit me up for $234 and I am a BMW CCA member. Of course I brought the oil and filter and bolt/washer for less than $70. Just because it's an M it uses the the same oil as the regular 3/4. There should not be an sur-charge because its a M. |

About $160 for me last week. Not too bad considering oil changes for my old E60 M5 and even my diesel truck were close to $300.
Something to be said for lower costs of a 3.0L engine. Did I just say that a $160 oil change was low cost?

are guys not doing oil changes themselves? not even the track guys? is it out of convenience, trackability (keeping receipts from BMW for resale?) or some other reason?
