Can someone tell me when these inner lights come on. I see a bulb in there but when I turn on the lights and brights I never see these activate. What is their purpose? See photo

On your year of car, they can be activated as DRL.

They should also light up when you pull the headlight stalk towards you so that you can flash to pass.

2006 325i, I take it you are talking about the DRLs.. They can be activated via the Idrive or menu stalk.

Stalk on left hand side, push its side button. It will show you a menu on your dash display, navigate till you see something that looks like a light beam. Click the stalk again and it will give you an on/off option.

FYI, on my 06 I cant activate DRL, the dealer has to do it. Not sure about yours.

Yes. I just found that out...It is not even an option on the turn signal stalk under the "key settings" as in the Youtube video above. Kind of crazy that the dealer has to do this instead of the end user

It's all good, they look like shit for DRL anyway, it's a halogen bulb and quite orange looking.

Mine only come on as flashers. I thought they were "cornering" lights?

I believe you can code the KOMBI to give DRL as an option in the BC menu. I coded the angel eyes to be DRL's and I can turn them off using the BC menu/DRL option.

different years had different functions for those lights.

You must have an early-build 325i. About halfway through the 2006 production the 325i got the ability to program the DRLs using the stalk. My car (April 2006 build) has the feature along with programing the length of the pathway lighting.
