Car I Hope to be Looking at Today or Tomorrow

I had a thread where I was asking for suggestions on something to buy to go along with my 06 330XI and the 4Runner, and got some great suggestions. Here is is one I hope to look at tonight or tomorrow.

It's very hard to find a E91 with the Sports Package. I couldn't find one within 100 miles and then I found this one. It's a six speed and I'm not sure I'm up for using a clutch again. I've had some surgeries on my one foot and the other one bothers me. I hope it feels ok when I test drive it. I will know from a test drive whether or not it will work out.

looks nice man whats your question?

Need more info:

Do both sets of wheels come with it? (assuming it's the same car in all 4 pics)
how many miles?
mods?
what are they asking?
dealer or private seller?

No question really. Just some of the guys on the other thread said to let them know what I decide on. Yes both set of wheels come with it, but he said he would sell it with just one set to lower the price some. 95K on it. From a Private Party.

We will negotiate on the price, but he's just a little over KBB Private Party to Private Party price and that's including the two set of wheels. I am not very partial to black wheels. My son thinks they are awesome though.

The ad would be helpful, so I did some googling

https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4842999992.html

It checks all the boxes.

Manual
sport package
wagon

Looks really clean. I'm sure an E91 with a manual and sports pack is a rare animal .

Pretty sure there is an age cutoff where the younger like black wheels and older don't. I'm old enough to remember when we used to take the hubcaps off and paint the steel rims black. When you got a set of Mags you were pretty special back then.

If I have to make a choice on the wheels, I'm going with the stock ones. But Ill be trying to negotiate the price and get both sets. I'm sure the guy selling it would rather let both sets go so he doesn't have sell them separately.

If you are looking for an Xi E91 and want an auto, you could always buy a non-sport package and buy a set of seats and a steering wheel. Xi's have their own suspension outside of the sport package.

When while you are shopping, find one with a N54 under the hood.

Which ones have the N54? I am confused about which model has which engine. Does the 06 330XI I have now have the N54? I am fairly new to BMW.

The badge on the back shows 328xi so it's a non turbo car (N52)....will be similar to what you have now

Just to follow up and make this clear: Any E91xi does not have a "sport" suspension (shorter springs, firmer struts and shocks, and harder bushings) even if it has a sport package. BMW did not offer a sport suspension with the xi models as it did when you bought a E9(X)i with a sport package. The E9(X)xi's with a sport package only came with the sport seats and steering wheel and blacked out window trim.

OP, that car looks in good shape. I'd get the black wheels and have them painted silver if you don't like black. Also ask about the water pump, that's about the mileage the N52 drops the water pump. I would suggest getting a pre-purchase inspection at a local BMW dealer or independent and have the car scanned for water pump codes. Replacement of the water pump (and thermostat) costs between $850 - $1,000 at an Indy.

An E91 with a manual transmission is definitely a rare combo. The car looks clean! I'd definitely do a pre-purchase inspection on the car. The black rims look better than the silver ones.

I did NOT buy the car. Did not look near as good as it did in the pictures. And it's not really big enough for what I want to do. So I'm wanting something bigger than an E91,

It was the first E91 I have looked at and it just would not be big enough for my Golden Retriever in the back. The shape of the roof line takes away the head room in the back, but it makes it look great from the outside.

I've looked at X3 and thought it was too small also, about the same size at the E91.

Oh really? Never seen the E91 myself. I think of the X3 as a big enough car. You may have to look into an X5 or a Sequoia eh?
