e92 door alignment

Today I noticed my driver's side door doesn't quite sit flush with the rear quarter panel. It sticks out maybe about 1 mm, it's most noticeable right where that crease is by the door handle. Is there any way I can adjust the door to fix this?

Same here, both driver a passenger from day 1.

After some googling, the resolution seems to be the adjustment of the striker bar. Moving it slightly towards the interior of the car (1-2mm) will do the trick.

Mine never really bothered me that much and you can only see it if the car is dirty and if I tell you where to look.

Keep in mind when you start messing around with the striker bar, you may have to do some window adjusting as well (due to the wind noise which may or may not be the case).

All you need to do is adjust the striker. Just slightly loosen the torx screws and move the striker inward. Make very small adjustments.

Supposedly the front of the door is tucked in a little and the rear is out slightly to reduced wind noise.

I just did mine today following the diy in the diy section, super easy and actually reduced wind noise a bit. I haven't done the windows yet though. The doors shut with a solid thud now too.

Just adjusted mine, and I'm almost mechanically inept. Simple DIY for the striker. The window adjustment, a bit more advanced.

Just be careful not to overtighten the striker torx, I managed to strip one with what I thought was not excessive force.

Be careful with the windows. The job can turn into a real pain real fast. I did this on my E46. If you loosen too much, the bolt will fall out, and you need to take apart the door to get it all back together.

Good advice. I actually tried my drivers side later after that post and just didn't seem to make much of a difference. Maybe I was doing it wrong? Loosed up and moved away from window seal plenty... But didn't seem to move in any more than it already was. Oh well, at least the nut didn't fall off
