Lsd install

So I have the m performance lsd sitting on a bench, looking to install. Looks like I will need a special tool for the driveshaft, anyone know where I can get one? Also looks like the half shafts need to be pulled? Is that correct?

Thanks everyone!

Oh it happened. Not that bad. Did it when I did the rear sway.

If you have access to a lift you just need someone to put it in gear and hold the brake to loosen the drive nut. You can order a 50 mm wrench from amazon thats what I did. After that its a pretty stock change. A shop could do it in 4-5 hours, if there willing. For me with the swaybar was about 8 hours.

I did Euro delivery, so they will not do port installed options.

50mm wrench.. yikes!

Any idea about torque requirements for that thing? Must've been sketchy trying to loosen it with the car on a lift.

What sways did you do?

H&r sways, not sold stateside.

140 or so ft pounds on the drive nut, no big deal on the Lift. You can buy the tools from BMW for about 800 dollars or just get a 50mm wrench from Amazon for 30 bucks
