Who ever shipped that did a poor job of properly packaging that up. I have a feeling UPS will deny the claim due to improper packaging. Whoever shipped that out was trying to save money on shipping, looks like a single wall box with very minimal to no packing material.

Worse comes to worse just file a charge back with your CC company if the shipper or UPS can't help you with the claim.

Good luck and keep us posted

Package looks like it got jammed up in the automatic sorting equipment in the shipping process, I don't think it was the driver.

Not sure I'd be blaming the driver either.

UPS drivers make about $40 an hour and will not do anything to jeopardize their job. Like I said, this looks like issue from a UPS sorting facility during shipment.

looks like poor packaging to me. There should be no dead air space in the box to keep the contents from shifting.

I am I the only one that wants to know was the item damaged?

We've talked about the box/packaging like the Patriots deflated balls so whats the damage to the actual goods?

Yes, front splitter has a large scratch and needs to be replaced.

LMAO. Sorry, pal, but you have no idea what you're talking about. They leave stuff outside my door, for my neighbors to steal, all the time. They have been doing this since the beginning of time.

$40 an hour = $320 a day = $320 x 20 days = $6400 a month = $76,800 a year ! No education required ? No brain required ?

I should become a UPS driver

No one, yet. Everyone's playing the blame game. Seller -> UPS. UPS -> Seller.

I personally think both parties are to blame.

I'm in touch with both the seller and UPS. Will keep y'all posted.

I should remove whatever brains I do have in my skull, so I can make that amount of money. I make quite a bit more than $83K, but I did, and still do, work very hard (and I'm not talking about physical labor, I'm talking about studying and getting a very tough degree) for my salary.

I hear you, I have two full time jobs myself. 717 Captain at Delta and custom brake caliper powdercoating.

I just feel I have to stick up for UPS. I do on average $10,000 a year in shipping with them for the powdercoat business and in 10 years they have only lost 1 package, and thats because a repeat customer didn't tell me he moved across the country and I shipped it to his old address. It did get found and correctly delivered though. Also, I've never had a damaged package, aside from 1 or 2 in the first couple months before I learned how to package stuff.

Wow, a pilot ! That's awesome ! I love airplanes. How do you feel about the Boeing vs Airbus school of thought debate ? Give the pilot more control vs let the computer decide your fate.

If that's your experience with UPS, I respect that. My experience with them has been nothing short of horrible. They ALWAYS leave stuff outside my door, without so much as knocking on my door or ringing the doorbell. People can STEAL my stuff EASILY. Yesterday, I was sitting 3 feet from my door, at home, and this driver just left my $1250 equipment outside the door, DAMAGED, and ran away. What do you think about that ?

Forget HOW it got damaged ... just the mere fact that the driver, knowing that it was damaged, just dropped it and ran away, probably knowing he'd be in trouble when I found out the condition of the package.

Jeez I don't even know... Sure we can say the seller didn't properly package the item, until you see boot prints that likely caused the entire box to split. No package should be handled to the point of causing that kind of damage. If the item is insured, a claim should take care of it. The contents of the package did not destroy the box, UPS did. Had the box not been trampled, the contents would have probably remained in good condition.

I prefer Boeing, but to be fair, I have never flown an Airbus product. Everytime I think I might switch over, one crashes somewhere. At Delta, the 330 flies to Hawaii, which was my favorite route on the 767-400 as a copilot, so I may still fly it one day.

I prefer that the packages are just left in front. If the sender doesn't require a signature, that is all they are supposed to do. My shop is behind my house and I miss fedex deliveries all the time because the drivers won't call the number I leave on my front door to get me to come up front. UPS lets me sign online.

I bought a rear diffuser from one of the vendors here, and it came in a similar box, with zero packing material inside of it, just the diffuser bouncing around. Luckily, it wasn't damaged.

As for the boot print, that was more than likely done while the box was flat and unassembled. If someone really had stepped on the box there when it was taped up, it would be flattened.

Yeah, the Airbus autopilot is wacko, man. Partial disengagement of the AP has brought down quite a few "high tech" planes - the 2 that immediately come to mind are the Russian one in Siberia (kids in the cockpit) and the German XL Airways test flight near France. Scaaaaaary. I'm with you on this, and with Boeing.

As for the box being flattened, I'm not sure what happened. I just know that Carbon Fiber is tough - one of its key features - strength. So, luckily, it didn't suffer much damage, except for the large scratches

Anyway, no point in me whining about this anymore. Shit happens, I just gotta deal with it ... and hope for a fair outcome

Good to meet you, captain At my work, there's a small informal aviation enthusiasts club, and I'm "Flight Engineer". One of my more experienced coworkers is "Captain"
