Detailer's Domain: Big Clean Up on a Big Classic - Mercedes 600 SEL W100
Mercedes-Benz 600 (W100) - this was a big one!
This one was a call that took us off guard. The 600 SEL has been a car I had waited to work on for years. Always loved this one since I first saw it as a kid in the old movies. I knew my customer had this car but had never seen it, finally got a call in for it and I was a bit surprised it was for mold removal......a lot of it. The car was brought in and after taking a look at it, the customer and I decided it was best to go full out on it - mold removal, engine clean up, paint correction, and protection. This car is a special one to the family, we took special measures to take our time and made sure we were able to get it back to it's glory. Very Nice. How many hours does that much work take you and, if you don't mind me asking, what do you charge the customer for that job? I not a professional but I recently spent about 25 hours doing a similar cleanup and paint correction on a 10 year old Acura MDX for my 16yo niece. The Acura was slightly worse then the 600 you did but not moldy or as large. I want her to have some idea of what total neglect costs to fix if your uncle doesn't do it for free I know I have over $100 in product used.

Stunning job, we're lucky across the pond that humidity isn't really an issue, thank god, looking at this!! We only have sun for around a week every year!
Keep up the good work |

I'm an SAP consultant, we charge almost as much as divorce attorneys do, per hour. I won't be shocked. But now that you said 70 hours, I would guess that you charged $2500-3500 for the job.

I'm going to guess the job was much more than $3500.
