Removing the dock for snap-in
Does anyone know how to remove the dock that the snap-in adapter plugs into? Not the snap-in itself, but the part that sits below it.
I need to feed a USB cable from inside the center console to the cup holder area and want to feed it so no wire is showing. |

I came up with a way that didn't require removal of the mounting plate. I popped up the tray where the USB/Aux plate is. With a pry tool it just pops straight up. I drilled a hole in the tray, next to the USB port, put a rubber grommet in it and fed a USB cable through. Tucked the cable under the center trim, drilled a hole straight down through the bottom of the cup holder (after removing the rubber cover on the bottom). Fished the USB cable up through it (this was NOT very easy because of the angle). Then mounted a FUZ cup holder mount...
If you really want to remove the snap-in mounting plate I think you have to take apart the whole center console where the rear seat vents are. |
