Need help with tire choice... Falken or Hankook • what's yalls experience?
First off, I am looking for an high performance all season tire. These will be 18's staggered on a 325xi wagon. I am looking at the Falken Zeix ZE950 (looks similar to a Continental DWS) and the Hankook Ventus S1 noble 2. The Hankooks are about $70 more for the set. I am leaning towards the Falkens, but what bothers me is there are not many reviews on this tire.I am mainly concerned with treadwear and comfort and specifically don't want one of these tires that does great for the first 10k miles or so and then starts wearing bad and getting noisy. I realize I cannot have it all in one tire, but My priorities are as follows and in somewhat order of importance:
1- Comfort and Noise and Treadwear 2- Wet Traction 3- Handling & Good cornering and not too mushy sidewalls 4- Dry tracton 5- Snow traction (we are lucky if we see 2-3 days of snow here in north Georgia) Hope you guys have some insight... I know most of you guys prefer ultra high performance summer tires, but I know my treadlife will suffer if I go that route. This car is a daily driver and will never see any track time. Just like to do some spirited driving occasionally. |
