Oil + Microfilter service cost?
Hi everyone,
Can you tell me how much an oil and microfilter service should cost for a 2010 320d? thanks |

not sure about £50 - £60. think these cars take like 7+litres.
oil itself will probably see you around the £60 mark. filter and microfilter at ECP are probably going to cost around £25 so around £85 if you wana DIY |

Before I moved onto my 320d I had my 120d Msport at DP hillington I supplied the oil 5.5 litres bought from opie oils as they had a deal on they supplied the filter cost was £55 plus vat that was about 7 months ago. £230 sounds like a full service rather than oil service

(5.2-5.5 litres of oil)to be used 100% doing it yourself you'll save labour costs.
On the service we do I'd be looking at £206.40 inc VAT, but that also includes a full diagnostic and a vehicle check too(which is extra time but also extra info re the car and any issues). Other place will drain/fill oil and fit the filter and that's it(BMW suck the oil out) |

Hey steve
iDrive tells me the oil change is due (78k). Is it really worth me going to BMW to get this done or can I go elsewhere/DIY? My only concern is the stamp and resetting the 'service overdue' message every time I start the car. |

I should add, my e90 does not have full BMW service history. The first 2 stamps are BMW but the 3rd is from and indie.
Should I bother with the dealer for just the oil and filter change? |

Another well respected brand you'll have no issues using that just don't use Crossland stuff

Have you priced it up on bmw-service.co.uk ?
Shows £209 for oil change, oil filter and microfilter for my 330d and it will take more oil than a 320d. Not sure if bmw dealers charge more based on this though? If you're reasonably handy, you could buy the microfilter from euro car parts for about 16 quid, I went for a mann carbon activated one. It's a 10 min job to take 8 bolts out the cover and remove and replace it. An engine oil and filter service is listed as £150 on bmw service for me, so you're saving a few quid buying the filter and fitting it yourself. Appreciate you won't get the tick in your service book for it, but it's a cabin filter at the end of the day. Still get the bmw dealer stamp and ticks for the important oil and oil filter changes. |
