Parking sensor warrnty
Is there anyone who fixed parking sensor for free under factory warranty? My parking sensor pushed in inside of the front bumper and took it BMW service center. And they said it is unwarrantable because it was hit by something. And they said it will cost about $600.
Please give me you guys comment about how I can deal with this. Last edited by stonefocus; 01-14-2015 at 05:46 PM.. |

Is it broken? They clip in place; sounds like you just need to pop it back in. You can probably drive the car up on rhino ramps, unbolt some of the lower tray and just feel your hand around in there with a flash light.. don't do it when it's hot, should you accidentally touch the radiator or something.

Remove bumper and fix it yourself if it is not a permanent damage. Warranty only applies to factory defects, not driver hitting something.

I kind of hesitant to doing it if I am going to mess up something. |

The dealer also sells a kit with a set of parking sensor mounts in case of one of yours being broken. It is about $42 or so. One thing for sure, it is not going to be $600 if you do it yourself. |
