New Car...Need Update?

Hello,

I notice on the bmwusa.com/update page - when I enter the last 7 of my VIN there is an update available.

The thing is, I just picked my car up on Saturday - would I already need an update?

The update is for Bluetooth and media functionality; if your car was built say 1 month ago and the update came out 2 weeks ago.. kind of makes sense don't you think?

Then I guess I will update! Thank you! I thought maybe they would have done this at the dealer before I picked it up...

I'd imagine they would do some checks [like if there was an overall update for the car], but my hunch if it's not urgent [or something that can be done on your own], they won't bother.

Well I downloaded the update and put it on a USB. When I went to update it in the car it said I am current.

Does your version # match the update? Then maybe the dealer did, in fact, update it.

Yeah the version matches. How will I know when it needs updated again?

Keep looking on that site or better yet, keep reading this sub-forum. We tend to go nuts when new versions are released. And at the rate that BMW drops support for vehicles...don't hold your breath
