10,000 Mile Service

I would like to buy my oil and replacement parts ahead of my 10,000 mile service but I am not sure what else is required besides the stuff I bought for the 1200 mile service, ie; Oil, Filter, and replacement drain plugs.

I am an American living in England with a US Spec F80 so the free maintenance does not apply for me and I dont want to pay UK prices for Oil and stuff.

Thanks for your help!

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of warranty did they give you when you exported your car to the UK. I'll be moving back to the middle east in a year and haven't been able to get a definite answer on BMWs "International" Warranty. Last thing I was told by my dealership was 2yrs.

Would appreciate the help.

I get a 2 year warranty while overseas, if I took it back stateside it would be 4yr. the 2 year overseas warranty only covers parts and there is no service agreement.

You really plan ahead! Your car will have condition-based service, meaning the mileage for each service may vary depending on driving conditions (shorter interval for short trips), so 10k is an approximation.

Basic service is only oil change, so only oil, filter & oil pan drain plug is required for the first. Every 2nd service the cabin microfilter is called for. Every 3rd the engine air cleaner. Every 5th the manual transmission oil and differential oil. Every 6th replace the spark plugs. Wiper blades are typically replaced every year and brake fluid is every 2 years. Brakes will be as required.

No problems for me so far, Im at about 8000 miles. My biggest complaint so far is small rocks getting stuck behind the heat shield on the wheels. Sounds HORRIBLE until it rattles out.

Thanks for the info, that sucks though that there is no service agreement.
