Need advice
So I have an e92 and and e93. Both 335's that I love, and don't see getting rid of anytime soon. The problem is, I have two big dogs, (a golden and a lab)
I've been thinking to get a $5000 suv or wagon to take them places with me, without having to scour the Internet for pieces of trim that they've scratched or damaged in either of my cars. It's nerve racking because I keep my cars as perfect as possible, but at the same time, I have a responsibility to take them places and show them a good life. Today I found an 04 325ix wagon, with sport package, Harmon Kardon, xenons, loaded. Absolutely pristine condition. Looks brand new. CarFax says everything checks out. 2 owners, all service records, no accidents/airbag deployment, and it's all very evident in person. A really nice example that's been garaged, serviced and well taken care of. The only thing that scares me is, it has 130,000 miles. But again, the car appears to be in absolutely pristine condition. They're asking 6700 for it. I'd love to hear from people with experience with this chassis and motor. I'd only be driving it a couple thousand miles a year. Good choice, or look for something Japanese with less milage/maintenance? I'm just afraid to get something boring that'll just sit. Hard to walk out to a Toyota with two 335s, I'm thinking this may be a good alternative. |

Wow, that thing looks like it's got half the miles you say it does. Don't be scared by 130k, as long as it was taken care of, and maintained properly, you shouldn't be worried.

I'd probably get something Japanese. Look at Mazdas. They are very fun cars to drive and are cheaper and more reliable than BMWs.

If this will be your third car... with just you driving it, and the impetus is the dogs. A cheap Japanese car would be fine, IMO. It would be used simply for the dogs. Then sell it in five or so years for the same amount you paid for it.

Go with a Japanese SUV. And I couldn't see 2 large dogs fitting in the back of that car.

Get rid of the hardtop before it does you dirty... that top will do you dirty one day... believe me.
Sorry, I guess I'm a bit biased due to the fact that I've already had two leaking issues within just 30,000 miles. I'm definitely not keeping this thing a day after warranty, and as a matter of fact I might sell it with one year warranty left on it or sooner. |
