Which are heavier, Style 189's or Style 230's?

I’m currently running Goodyear Performance winter tires 225/40-18 VR on 8 X 18 Ronal 5 spoke wheels. Good tire for the winter. I just bought I set of Style 230 19 inch wheels from German e-bay. I weighed the Style 189’s from the Sport pkg and was surprised at the weight. The Style 189, 8 X18 fronts weighed 29.4 lbs on my digital bathroom scale. The rears at 81/2 X18 weighed 30.6 lbs. In my opinion, they are quite heavy for 18 inch wheels. Now for the surprise; the Style 230’s are LIGHTER! The Style 230, 8 X19 fronts weighed 27.2 lbs. while the 9 X 19 rears weighed 28.6 lbs. The difference was 2.2 lbs per front and 2.0 lbs per rear. None of the wheels had TPMS sensors attached, but the 19’s did have the metal valve stems attached. I’m sure that there are more accurate scales than my digital bathroom special, but the shock for me wasn’t the actual weight, but the differences, the Delta. I would have bet money that the 19’s were heavier, and it turns out I would have been wrong. The 19’s are from BBS Germany while the 18’s are from Cromodora, Italy. What are your thoughts?

that is a really amazing discovery! where did you find out about the manufacturers? Bbs is way better than the italian brand, maybe that's why the 19s are lighter than the 18s!

The BBS letters are cast into the inside of one of the spokes the wheels, while the Italian data is ink stamped on the barrel of the rim, where the tire is mounted.
