Leather Bolsters - Clear protecting covers?

I've just bought a new M4 Coupe and I want to keep it for a long time. I remember when I had my 335i with Individual Merino leather the side bolster on the driver's side seat started to wear after a few years and I want to avoid this on my new car.

In the UK, the police put a clear plastic cover over the driver's side bolster because they know that worn bolsters will affect value come resale time.

Does anyone know where you can buy something like this? Sounds like a good idea to me.

We have been talking about booster protection on another forum. But, no one has found anything awesome yet.

Do you know how the Police where doing the film? This does sound promising if done tastefully. Pics
