auto shifting manual

Was wondering if anyone else had this happen in manual mode...

Off the line, pull the paddle back to shift into second and the car does two very briefly and then right into third.

Any particular reason this happens?

Try shifting a little earlier.
The car shifted for you into 2nd gear and you not realizing it was going to shift for you, upshifted but now you're in third gear.

In sport+ it won't shift for you at all, from what I experienced

I'll try that, maybe first is that short? I'm not rally waiting for 6000+ rpm, just around 4 or so?

I don't think that's the case. This has happened to me a few times. There seems to be no reason for it. Like you, I wasn't even going hard. Maybe in the 3000 RPM range. Each time I wonder if I inadvertently double clicked, but I doubt it. I think the shifter perhaps is sometimes sensitive to a fault.

You're misunderstanding. In manual mode, we are clicking the up shift paddle once, but it activates twice instead, going from 2nd to 3rd, then 4th, as if we had clicked twice. Mine doesn't auto shift for me either, but sometimes it has this odd behavior of double up shifting when I only shift once.

A bit more trial and research later it looks like the following, putting it into the left m/s mode starts it in sport move (s1) and isn't switched to manual (m3)until your first shift so I was shifting around the same time the computer is hence the double shift. So this is what I think is happening...
S1 Revs (computer shifts and i pull the paddle)S2/M3

Yup. Easy fix is shifter to left at a complete stop. Left paddle shift to go from S1 to M1. Then you're in manual from there out.

you don't need to be at a complete stop... you can shift from/to D-S-M at any time
