M3 side skirts
How different are they to non M?
I missed out on a set same colour as mine on eBay but they were a good price so made me think is an easier option as local body shops want £250 to paint a set!! I've read they need slight modification but not sure what that modification actually is? |

To make them look something like decent fitment you will need to modify quite abit. They are longer for a start also they flare out abit more on the arches.i have a set in the garage that I did start to modify but never got round to finishing as I bought replica ones that fit straight on.

think i paid about £160 for painting but they needed a little prep work too as they were second hand off the forum and had a few stone chips.

I'm pretty sure Aff said he fitted genuine skirts to his previous E92 and that they just needed a bit of tweaking by a capable bodyshop.

They will fit on it's just case of how much time you want to spend and how happy you will be with the final result.i bought an original pair and had them on and off numerous times as I trial fitted and modified as necessary to get them to line up.the main problem is that they are too long.on first fitting you will see that the skirt sits about 10mm further out on the rear arch, this can be adjusted by making the mounting holes bigger under the kick plate.this will allow the whole skirt to slide forward reducing the overhang on the rear arch.but this then means you narrow the gap at the bottom of the door and create overhang on the front arch.the skirt also protrudes out on the top line of the rear 1/4 panel.these are just some of the issues you will encounter but at the end of the day it depends how critical you are about final finish.
