Think you have to buy the whole cover. When I had the common problem of the covers not sitting flush after operating I removed the spring & compressed it with a pair of pliers, worked for me & worth a try before forking out for a new cover.

I had a similar issue where the weren't sitting flush and gave them a good squeeze with a pliers and they have been sitting flush since. It was tricky to unclip them though from the washers though.

Check your fuse card. Every model is different. Google could be of help.
The headlight washers use at least 3x more fluid than the screen. It's over £1 /litre. Ditch them. WM |

Mine was fuse 43 (2006 E91 335d) but as mentioned, some other models have them in different places. I totally forgot I'd pulled it and got the car MOT'd back in August - sailed through.

It's a legal requirement to have washers with Xenon/HID headlamps. OK, they do use considerably more washer fluid, they're meant to and that's why they pressure wash the Xenon area twice. If these units are not clean, they will not focus the light correctly and therefore blind other motorists. They're there for an important reason.

I also keep my car very clean regardless of the weather, but during the winter months here, there's so much salt on the roads that after a relatively short journey, the lights are covered with salty crap that's difficult to remove after a long journey. |

if you keep your washers topped up with the correct amount of screen wash it'll help but I always find that even when you go heavy on the soap, they can still freeze when it's really cold, or cold for a long time. not much you can do about it really.... apart from pull the fuse of course (or disable via coding)

Anyone that has experienced this will tell you, in winter when they freeze up and you go to use them and they fly off the car to replace them you have to remove the whole bumper and their not cheap... look around for e92 e93's with missing headlight washers because they cant be bothered to replace them. my 2pence
