How much longer can i expect to wait for delivery?
So i called the 1800 number and it says that my vehicle is being transported to the port of exit. Anyone else that ordered here have an idea on how much longer i can expect for delivery (im in nj). Also does anyone know how to track the vessel once it ships? I asked at work and no one had any idea. (i work for bmw so go figure)

I just called the 800 number and found mine has also been released for shipment, so I'm in the same boat as you (pun intended). I wonder what it would cost to have it air freighted, not sure I can stand the waiting much more!

Don't worry things could be worse. Mine I feel has likely been lost..... My 235i has been off the boat since November 7th and still no word on where it is or what is going on. My vehicle finished production on September 19th......
I think I am going on the longest delivery time in history. Last edited by jbenington86; 12-06-2014 at 01:39 PM.. |

I was told 'early January' when we ordered mine but after reading some of these stories (like jbenington above) I'm expecting a longer lead-time but hopefully not too much longer. |

the 1-800 number should tell you what ship its on and from there you can track it at marinetraffic websites. I didnt have any issues and my M235 got here on time. I am in Denver.

Mine finished production on 11/14 and it's on a ship (Asian King) which just left Southhampton. ETA at Port Hueneme, 12/26. Took 18 days to get on the ship though.

I think we have the longest lead time in the PNW. From Seattle, here was my timeline:
Ordered: 7 Sep Production start: 21 Sep Production complete: 26 Sep Shipped: 10 Oct (Dealer provided the vessel name) Arrived in CA: 7 Nov Arrived in Seattle (incl. LSD install at port): 17 Nov Took delivery on 20 Nov All said and done, about 10 weeks.

All of these delivery times are so long. Wonder how it is that we get cars delivered from germany within 6-7 weeks. Mine went into production two days after bejng ordered. I am hoping to get it by new years :/

East Coast, especially NJ, is a very different story than West Coast. Your cars just have to go across the Atlantic, ours have to go through the Panama Canal and then all the way up the Mexican coast to Southern CA. Even worse if it's going to Seattle. Ship first stops and off loads at Port Hueneme, CA and then all the way up the U.S. West Coast. That's a WHOLE lot more boat time.

Nothing goes according to the meticulous plans I've made inside my head. Go figure. When you ask "how long can I expect..." just go ahead and assume "forever."
Took two extra days to get my car unloaded in Brunswick. The port was overrun with ships waiting to get in. The ETA to my dealer is now the 15th. I thought I'd be using my time off this weekend to go get it. Nope. Jump ahead to NEXT weekend. Does the world realize the danger in making an impatient woman wait? I don't think it does. |

mine said finishing touches last monday and still nothing. Called the dealer today and they said no word i am in texas so i assume mine arrived port on the east coast and is on a truck since last monday maybe? who knows, this wait has sucked! worst off because i have been carpooling for 9 weeks and it blows so incredibly bad i cannot explain. Hoping i will get the call tonight saying to pick her up but at this point i have no clue what the deal is or where the car is nor does the dealer.

Well after being off the boat for over a month I had to be a little proactive and start sending out emails going wtf....not like it matters I won't be home till January. I finally got an email back from BMWNA and it looks like someone dropped the ball. This whole order process is totally 180 from my last one. Constantly having to send emails to find out what is going on instead of them informing me on the process. I give them 1-2 weeks between estimated deadlines but it just seems that every step of the process has been delayed 2-4 weeks due to poor communication.
Turns out someone forgot to send out my contact info this time or so I was told. However I was contacted by them over a month ago with an update..... |

I can tell you that so far, my experience with this car has been very different than my experience with my ordered MINI. The process is taking a lot longer and, as Dr Fatpuss said, getting information has been more of a struggle. My MINI took six weeks from order to sitting in my driveway. I haven't looked at other boards but I wonder whether it has anything to do with what appears to be small production numbers for the 2 Series. Does anyone know if other ordered BMW models are taking as long as the 2's seem to be taking?

Placed order of my m235 on Dec 5 and received a production number on Dec 6.
After reading mixed timing from members here and bimmerfest, it seems the scheduling can be anywhere from 5 weeks (lucky) to 10 weeks. Just hope my car will be at my possession around the average time of 7-8 weeks like many others. This waiting is truly killing me. YouTubing can only help so much |
