For Those Who Have Silverstone Interior....Any Regrets?

Saw the interior in person over the weekend and it looks great. Looks alot more white than "silver"stone. My question (and probably the same questions owners of this interior also had) is how is it holding up after some mileage?

I know this is still a relatively new car but some of you have driven it extensively already. Is this color a pain in the a$$ to keep clean? Does it scuff easily? Does it pick up stains? ...and the main question is if you can do it all over again, would you get that color again?

Yes, I know there's a similar thread but I gave it some time so you guys/gals can rack up some mileage. Also in that thread, a lot of people were chiming in with silverstone interior from other/older BMW cars, I wanted to know regarding the F8x in particular since BMW can sometimes make changes throughout the years/models. Case in point, I have seen SS interior in an E92 M3 and E60 M5 and they're more gray than SS in the F8x M3/4 which is more white.

I ask because I have Lunar Silver interior in my S4 (50k miles) and cracks show because dirt collects in the cracks. I love the look but I'm hoping the similar color in the F8x M holds up a little better.

Any input appreciated.

i've had mine for about 6300 or so miles. i dont regret it at allll i would definitely get it again. it's honestly not really that hard to clean. yes you have to clean it more often that you would say a black interior, but it's not hard to clean in my opinion. i have no scuffs in mine or stains

Noticed in your sig you have full leather....what additions make it "full" leather? Sorry for the noob question.

3g miles here worn plenty of different types of clothing too, just love this interior since it appears so hard to keep clean when really not.

full leather has leather on the dash, tops of the door panels, and a few other things. you can look in the member galleries to see pics of the differences. it really helps bring a more premium feel to the interior

lower parts of the dash also has some stitched leather areas. Pretty worth the $ if you can care for it. Had it on my M5, which fits that cars profile much more IMO. I opted out on the M4. Less stress on watching the leather get scratched up by my kids

No issues with my SS interior and I even wear jeans on occasion. I did get some staining on my ED through my passengers but baby wipes and a damp cloth cleaned it right up. No regrets here.

I went with it.

Detailing is a little hobby of mine, so I don't think cleaning it will be an issue.

Getting close to 5000miles on mine with two little ones crawling on the back seats with their boots to get into their booster seats. It is holding up very well, but does need more cleaning than a black interior. I cleaned it once using the BMW products and it easily came back as new. Jeans have not transferred any dye so far on either front seats. I am very happy with the SS interior thus far, it makes the interior feel much more airy and special. I would do it again in a heartbeat .

Had it for about 2300 miles.. Wear lots of dark colors and def does leave stains mainly bottom of seat and arm rest but they do remove fairly easily.. Car wash once a week is a must usually add a leather conditioner but must be careful they don't use one with armor all otherwise ask them to "clean the seat"..

I hear soaking your dark colors in some cold water and white vinegar helps the dyes set.

Might want to give a shot.

I have about 4400 kms and will get it again. No issues but would suggest take some extra care with it because it is still a light color.

Thanks for bringing this topic up. I currently have a SO on order with tentative SS interior, and am wondering if I am crazy since I will have a car seat in back with the 1 year old. Certainly won't be my daily driver, but will use the car a bit, and want to ensure I can clean without worrying about staining.

My dealer has a leather care package, (which i believe is some sort of pre treatment) but not sure if it is needed or if I should go with the extra protection.....

I have 2200 miles on my AW on SS, with a 2 years old walking all over the rear seats. I do need to wipe it more often than leather from my previous car, but it's not as bad as some people claimed.

6000 km and I'm loving it (sorry for the McD product placement). I would definitely get it again. Keeping it clean does take little bit more work, but not so much that you will hate yourself. Also, as it slowly age, it turns slightly more gray then white, which is becoming the color I prefer.

A question I've had and not been able to answer thru looking at any pics I've found, but you certainly know Joey- with SS full, is there any deviated stitching, and if so, where? I can't see it in any pics of SS full that I've found, as it is with SO full for example...TIA

thats a thread that i started when i first picked up my car, with two pics of the interior. you can see in the first picture of the interior by the steering wheel there's deviated stitching. thats the only spot where there is stitching like that, i can take some more pics and post them if you want

and actually on page 3 of that thread theres a lot more pics of the dash that show the stitching better

Thanks man, I missed that in my searches somehow, but that shows the stitching pretty well and I like it. Probably should've just sprung for the full myself, but couldn't find anything to sway me enough specific to the SS, so I went with extended. The visual impact of the deviated stitiching in the SO full that I saw in person was stunning, and worth the extra cash IMO, but I couldn't find any pics showing anything similar in SS. Car should be here in 3 weeks or so (ETA to CA is 12/8) so too late now, but have still been really curious.

Your car looks great by the way, congrats!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like the majority have had no issues or regrets.

My main concern was the armrest, the bolsters and of course non-"car people" who get in and out of my car - people who typically don't care about cars are less mindful. Carelessly getting in and out can cause scuffs.
I've trained my girlfriend to be careful but some of my knucklehead friends aren't easily trained.
