BavSound Ordered - Now I wait patiently

I just placed an order for BavSound Stage 1 with sound deadening kit for my F80 with standard hi-fi. Seeing the size of the magnet of the stock speakers vs BavSound is a no brainer decision. (photo)

BMW makes great performing cars, but our sound system is worst than any Acura/Infiniti. I'm an audiophile and BavSound is praised by thousands who enjoys music. 90% clearer and you don't need an amp replacement.

They're running a special 45% off + 10% off coupon. You can contact Cory, he might be able to hook you up with some goodies on top of your purchase.

Cory Cataldo <corycataldo@bavsound.com>

Installation looks straight forward: http://www.bavsound.com/Stage-One/BS.../Installation/

My review on post #46 (page 3).

Just placed an order as well for F80 w/ HK. I spoke to them and they said they recommend keeping the EQ totally flat. Very excited!

Did you get 45% off? Wow that's nuts. What was final price?
Also any work on their sub dev yet?

That's awesome. I agree with them, you shouldn't mess with your EQ too much if you have a good system. Did you get the sound deadening, I heard it will make a huge difference?

There are thousands of great reviews on BavSound. The lead time is 6-8 weeks so it will be awhile until I do a write up.

Use promo code 10EXINT to get 10% on top of the 45% off 10yr sale. I got the sound deadening too, so i was $428 total. They're working on the F80 sub, which will come with a G-class amp to replace the sub underneath our seats. Probably release next year.

If you guys want it, pull the trigger now. The backlog is getting bigger and the sale ends Dec 1st.

I just checked the site for HK upgrade it appears to be still over $700 with coupons. Not sure how you got it that low, am I missing something?

Mine is standard hi-fi. HK has more speakers = more expensive. I have 7 speakers, you have 14 to replace (but looking at $ per speaker, yours is less expensive than mine). Also, you shouldn't need to buy an amp with these so $700 is a bargain for an audiophile overhaul replacement.

Keep in mind a nice pair of Focal K2 runs $1,200. So $700 for 14 high end speakers is pretty awesome.

I got the sound deadening and I paid a little less than $800 with tool kit. I think it's a great price. The offer ends Dec. 1.

I need to hear them before I buy them. Just my thing. it's not a bad deal but remember we are just replacing speakers here. Most "audiophile's" will not be happy with a simple speaker replacement. Power and clarity are typically gained by moving more upstream.

"Audiophiles" who replaced their basic and HK speakers with BavSound will disagree with your comment on just speakers replacement. Having the right drivers make a huge difference without replacing anything else. Here's a more thorough write up by a former DJ (Audiophile) who replaced his HK system in an F30.
http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=910027

Since you would like to hear first, just place the order / install it / return it within 30 days after shipment (they will even refund your shipping fees). I spoke to the rep, Cory, and he said there's only one person who returned the system in the 10yr being in business. That customer wanted something that costs thousands (amp, sub, speakers overhaul), which he went and did.

FYI: I don't work for BavSound or received anything for this post, which would be nice lol. I just did my thorough homework and share it to save everyone the trouble of going through the same process. I read many posts and talked to friends who had BavSound, they all swears by this product and they paid full price before this promo.

Great info in this thread, thanks! I just ordered the stage 1 package to upgrade my HK system when my car arrives. I already have the HK system in my e92 and definitely think it's harsh (due to the tweeters). I've become accustomed to it over the years, but becoming accustomed to something versus something that sounds natural from the get-go is a big deal in the audio world. The 10% coupon code noted above also worked like a charm!

For those ordering a set, I was quoted a delivery date around February 1 (which should match up nicely with my expected f80 delivery date).

Good deal... Especially with the additional 10% offsetting the sound deadening and install kit! Just ordered one to replace the HK system in my M4 when it arrives in February. Hoping for a sub too...

Welcome to the BavSound wait club. Keto wrote a review on the HK replacement, nice write up. I might replace the the HK in my 6 series GC soon too...

Sub for our cars will come sometimes next year.

It will take another 4-6 weeks, since they're on backlog. Based on all the reviews, I'm sure it's as good as advertised. You'll never hear anything bad about BavSound. Here's Keto's review for his HK replacement with BavSound.

The deal continues! Just ordered mine with the extra 10% off last night. Like others, I am disappointed with the sound quality (especially the low end). The HK system in my old 2002 330ci sounds better! I hope these speakers make a great improvement to the sound. I will also add on their sub when it is released.

I saw that. The deal is extended until Dec 25th. Agree, I got the non-HK system in my F80. Can't wait to replace the wimpy BMW speakers with BavSound.

I upgraded my speakers today. Took 2 hours to replace all speakers except rear left door. I could not take the panel off, so one speaker is still non-bavsound.

Review:
The sound quality def. improved! I listen to hip-hop and top 40. The sound is now more punchier with clear mids and higs. Also the bass impeoved for sure!
Bavsound is worth it!

I'll update more details soon.

Also, if anyone can advice me on how to pull the tight rear door panel, that would be great!

I did mine on my HK system, well worth it. I still think a good sub is needed (and I have an order in for one), but even without, the Bavsound is well worth it. Cleaner sound, mids and bass is better, treble is clearer, etc...

Install is simple, especially with their install tool kit. While you have the door panels off, I do recommend putting some extra sound deadening on; I used a roll of super dynamat, any brand will work. As long as you don't mind the extra weight, of course.
