Heated Seat Help
Hey Guys... We've decided we need heated seats for our E92. Can anyone recommend a shop in the Seattle area (Eastside even better) that can help me with this? OEM switches would a bonus as well.
Thanks!

Possible help ...
Talk to Colin at Cantrell Motorsport http://www.cantrellmotorsport.com/ in Kirkland. I believe he may know someone that may be able to you. Lemme know how it goes, 'cuz I may need a heated seat repaired. FYI

I'll let you guys know how it goes. I don't expect my car to be delivered for a couple of weeks yet. I'll make some phone calls soon though.

Ya... that's the plan. Its kind of important to me to have the OEM switches. I don't think it'll be a problem. I should be getting the car redelivered from ED by the end of the month and will try to move forward with the seats before too long. I'll let you know what I find out when I start making phone calls.

Here is the scoop after making about 8 phone calls. But... first of all; I got my car back from ED yesterday and I'm stoked to say the least. Anyway, it turns out that even the seat heaters are linked with the ECU. Therefore, no aftermarket heated seats with OEM dash switches. Apparently there is too much potential for conflict with other systems.
The good news... there are plenty of options out there, but they won't resemble anything factory, which bums me out a bit. I'm thinking I'll go with full seat heat with the 3 position switch on the side of the seat. Its better than nothing and comes with a 3 year warranty. $350 per seat installed in Bellevue at Superior Auto Trim. Thanks for the replies! Getter

So are you going to do it?
What are some of the other options? Would they give us a discount if a few other people do it as well? $350 doesn't sound too bad!

I'm fairly sure I'll pull the trigger on this one. I plan to stop by the shop today and look at the switches that are available. There aren't many options on the switches. If I can't have an OEM switch on the dash then I'll take one on the side of the seat if it doesn't look too cheap. They can put the aftermarket switch on the dash, but I'd rather not go that route.
I'll ask him about a group deal. If anyone else is interested, chime in. Getter

Didn't make it to the shop before I had to leave town. It'll be a couple of weeks until I visit the shop now. I'll give you an update when I make it out there.

Spoke to Moe at Superior Auto Trim on Friday. He spent a long time taking me through the process and showing me examples of his work. He has a three position switch that looks factory next to the seat controls on the seat skirts. I know the factory puts them in the dash, but this is the next best thing. He is supposed to call next week to schedule and I'm pretty sure we'll do it. No one chimed in on a group deal so I didn't bring it up with him. He's not the cheapest, but I'm convinced that he'll stand by his work.

$750.00 + Tax for the front seats with a 3 year warranty. That seems to be right in the middle of the road as far as price goes. I'm not sure I want to go with the cheapest bid. I've heard a story of a bad install where the car burned to the ground 6 months later.

I think stock has a push button for Level 1, Level 2 and Off and its on the dash... lower center area. This is a rocker style switch that does the same. If its on the seat skirt, I think the rocker switch is better so you can tell what setting its on by feel. You will really only see it when the door is open.

Yep. That switch has two levels of heat (high and low). They have other systems where there are up to 5 levels of heat (I believe).
