That is the Grimsel pass in Switzerland ... I sometimes go to a research station we have there.

At some points, if you fell off, you'd have a good wee while to ponder life before hitting the bottom.

At the moment that road will be closed (under many feet of snow). Can only access the station by special underground railway and private cable car.

They could have done that when the road was partially open in spring before it was fully open to go over the top.
