Steering Setting at the track

Jeremy Clarkson made a comment in one of his videos that to drive the M4 around a track he had to set the steering to comfort. Has anyone else had this experience? Here is the thread about the video. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1055870

Has any of the track junkies here had the same experience?

I am about to start the track day season circuit now that the temperature doesn't reach the surface of the sun!

What would be the pros/cons of not using SPORT+ for everything.

I had it set at Sport+. It is completely personal what works best. I find a stiffer steering feel allows for more deliberate and controlled input.

As other have stated, it is very personal.

I for one preffered the Sport setting. Comfort was too light and Sport+ too heavy for my taste and masked some of the feedback. Sport is my goldilocks setting .

I find it nice that we have the option to fine tune it to our liking.

I like sport for steering on the track also. Sport+ seemed too stiff and I wanted to be able to make quick steering corrections if I get the car out of shape especially when adding throttle coming out of turns.

I'm guessing the way Jeremy drives he was semi drifting the M4 around the track which probably explains his desire for the very light comfort setting.
