Changing out Rear Main Seal

Hey folks, I bought a 07 335i 4-door, with auto about 4-5 months ago and she has developed a oil consumption issue. I dropped the belly shields the other night and found oil residue around the plastic piece you pop off to view the torque converter and am sure it's either the rear main seal or the oil pan leaking.

Neither issue is a huge issue to be honest, I already have everything removed to drop the transmission (borrowing the trans jack tonight to fully drop it). Since I have gotten this far in, regardless if it's a rear main or pan gasket, I'm replacing the rear main to be safe.

Question I have is there is suppose to be a better gasket than the OEM BMW one, anyone know a part number? (Link to the post I read about the better gasket: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26341)

Also, can someone tel me the part number for the OEM gasket and the sealant as well as exactly where you're suppose to put the sealant?

Thanks in advance!

@drkreign the link you posted up is wrong, the PDF file is for a front crankshaft seal replacement. On the rear crankshaft seal, or rear main seal, there is no need to add any sealant. The part number for the seal is 11117587168 and you can buy it from ECS tuning.

See how the front crankshaft seal has the two groves mentioned in that PDF, look at the pics in the link below, still from ECS tuning website, this is the front crankshaft seal... p/n 11117547842 and that's not the one you need...

You can doublecheck the part number on www.realoem.com, i'm not sure where this PDF came from but it's really misleading since they mention the transmission and flywheel need to be removed.... http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...32&hg=11&fg=10
