November Lease Numbers
Woke up this morning to new lease numbers. The advertised monthly is lower but the holiday incentive stays the same at $500, the advertised monthly terms are 39 instead of 36.
Anybody know residual and money factor for November at 10k miles a year for the 39 months? |

Residual dropped from 62% (Oct) to 60% (Nov). As you said, incentive stays at $500. I'm a bit perplexed by this, but I guess the 2-series is selling very well for them and there's no need for additional support to move them. (X5s, which are also selling very well, have 0 incentives).
The monthly payment on the 2-series dropped a bit because the terms are now 39 months instead of 36 months. In return though, you'll pay one additional year of registration fees (for months 37-39). Last edited by Cal; 11-02-2014 at 01:59 AM.. |

Hmmm, something doesn't make sense. I made the calculations and dropping the residual to 60% and increasing the payment to 39 months drops the monthly by about $5, not the $40 they're advertising. BMW has a $1000 holiday incentive on almost every model including the 3 and 4 series.

DO you remember the terms for October (i.e., what the "down payment" amount was)? For this month, they are saying $449mo for 39 months with 4,174 down payment. Perhaps there was a difference here.
Yeah, a lot of their models have a 1k credit, including the M3/M4 (financing). But it says $500 only for the 2-series, and 0 for the X5. |

Yeah, I saved the screenshot from BMW's site. The down payment stayed the same at $3000, the total due at signing actually went down for November to $4,174 from $4,214 in October, the difference is the first month payment which went down.
The only thing that could've changed is the residual getting better. I tried BMW's offer on the calculator and doing a 63% residual at 39 months seems to be correct for 10k miles, of course this is just a guess. The 60% you saw might be for 15k miles at 39 months. |

Blah nevermind... only a $40 change as it should be. The low interest rate and lower payment is good, but offset by the longer contract. Things are pretty much equal but a lower residual means higher chance of exiting early or buying car out without a loss, so this month is a better deal just for that.

MF .0013 60% 10k miles Attached is a screenshot. (It shows $28050 as the residual value for a $46750 MSRP car, which yields 60% RV. It also states 10k miles per year.) The MF is slightly up from last month (which was .00129), and now it is .0013, but it is a minimal difference (maybe around a dollar or so monthly). Given these new terms, the monthly should go down a bit due to a slightly longer term, but maybe not by $40. So, I'm not sure where the additional reduction came from. |

I don't know what I do wrong when I use these lease calculators. Even the one someone from BimmerFest shared. With those new numbers I get a pre-tax payment of $501.97 per month. What am I doing wrong?
The spreadsheet is from this post on BimmerFest: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...74&postcount=9 [Edit] Using another Lease Calculator I got a bit closer. $482/mo with the given information. It drops to $450/mo with an additional $1200 down. I wonder if there is another $1200 incentive they're not mentioning. Last edited by dan84; 11-02-2014 at 06:43 PM.. |

Yeah, there's gotta be a misprint and what they're putting as lease end residual is 15k instead of 10k.
I got the numbers from Edmunds, they always seem to be correct as they get them from the manufacturers, just as dealers do. |

Where on Edmunds did you get 63% RV for 36mo/10K on a M235i?
The moderators who answer the leasing questions on their forums said, ".00130 MF and 60% residual for 39 months, 10K/yr. $500 Holiday credit." If I can get that $449/mo*39mo deal for a $46750 MSRP'd car, I wonder what I can get for the optionless $44600 MSRP'd car I was looking at. An MSRP of $2000 less should knock how much off the payment, ~30? I'd sign the papers tomorrow for that. |

This was posted in the 2014 2-series lease lease thread. This same question was asked in the 2015 lease thread, and two moderators confirmed the 39mo/10k with 60% residual on the 2-series. So it looks like BMW did not misprint the information on their website. (No way a 2014 has higher residuals than the 2015s, but BMW is going to move them off the lots now.) In any case, here's the response: |

Edit: I see what you're saying, on the 2015 thread they're saying 60% but they're also saying 63% on 2015's on the 2014 thread.
Haha, this is such a mystery, makes no sense having a much higher residual on 2014's, they would just have a higher cash incentive. This morning their mod updated the post saying these numbers are for 2015's. |

Yeah I was just posting that, I'm t3_rotary. lol
What is the truth?! -_- If it is actually 63%, that brings the number in my worksheet down to $448.30 a month, which is damn close to the ad. But I don't know if that's actually right. |

I'm the one that asked the question on Edmund's...
I believe I asked for 36/10 and 36/12k, but he only gave me 39 month back. The way he worded it is a little confusing though I believe because he answered like he was answering for 36 months. At least that's how I took the answer to be. 62% and 63% for 39/10 and 39/12. |

Well, it is 60% for 10k at 39 months, was really hoping for something better or a better incentive. The lower monthly payment on BMW's offer is BS. My car arrived at the dealer and I'll be signing the paperwork tomorrow.

All things being equal then, the lower monthly makes sense. Those three extra months make up the $40 difference. Calculate (20,000/36) - (20,000/39) and it equals around 40.

46750 - 60% = 18700 / 39 = 479.49 46750 - 62% = 17765 / 36 = 493.47A difference of $13.98/month. Who knows. I was just given this offer by one of my local dealerships: 2015 M235iSo the car is the same as the sample car in the lease special without the Tech Package for $2150. Is this a solid deal? |
