You can also use the BMW Remote app on the phone. It has a tab for Google Maps. Anything you look up there can be sent to the car.

I'm still playing around with google maps app. I can't get it to show "send to car" after setting it all up. |

Haven't tried with the remote app yet, but for me atleast, when searching on google maps and sending to my vehicle, I have to go into Messages under ConnectedDrive to obtain the address and then start guidance. Maybe that's where your addresses are ending up?

I also use Google maps on my laptop to send addresses and this is how I usually do it. It took a little messing around to get the "send to car" option to show up. My issues was that I have multiple Google accounts (personal, work, etc) that are usually all logged in at once. Google kept logging me out when loading Maps if I was using Chrome. I finally tried it in Safari, where I'd only been logged in with personal account, and was able to get it working. Every once in a while it will also work in Chrome, not sure why.
They should always end up in your messages. You can get to it either from either the Office or Connected Drive area from the main menu.

Just remember, if you're using it from your computer, you need to be signed into your GMail / Google Apps account and enter the email address you registered with BMW Assist in the Google send to car page. Make sure the email address is in ALL CAPS! in the account ID field. Then just search a destination and click 'Send to car' and it should just work.
For me, it literally took a few days for it to start working after I created my BMW Assist account. Then it finally started working. |
