Run flats or non run flats for winter?

I'm going to get a winter wheel/tire set for my 228i m sport. Thinking of going 205/50/17 all around. Interested to know if people stick with run flat tires or go to non run flats (and carry a tire kit repair) for winter.
Thanks.

I'm going with 17" non RFT. Want the extra flexibility and the taller sidewall for winter road conditions.

Went with just the opposite...run flats for winter. A bit more security. I don't need performance stats in winter where I live if I have a flat situation. But its all preferences...like pizza.
