Time for 90k service.....is it necessary?

I just rolled 90k in my '08 328i. The service light popped on and i guess its time for a routine inspection/service. My question is: is this a necessary service?

The car runs solid, but i plan on driving this one for quite a few more miles (150-200k maybe) so i want to take care of it properly. I want to know what you think before i set up an appt with the local indy shop.

Also, whats a decent price for the service?

Thanks

You need to do it. You can do it yourself (look in the service and warranty book to see what needs doing).

Minimum cost from a dealer would probably be $300 or so, probably closer to $500 (for reference, that's about the same cost a Toyota dealership would charge for similar checks). They will also try to up-sell you on other items that may well need attention: belts, hoses, etc.

Thanks Floyd.

I will have the indy shop perform the service. I will probably just get a quote if anything else needs to be done........my BIL is a mechanic, so we should be able to do some of the minor stuff by following the DIY guides on here.

Think i should change the plugs now, or wait to 100k?

Also, tell me if this looks like the proper 90k service:

Looks reasonable - some stuff is from older non-CBS schedules.

I downloaded this from somewhere/sometime: 335d Service Checklist.pdf (it is for my diesel, but whatever.)

If the car runs great, the plugs can wait. They are rated 100k, they looked like new when I changed them at 95k.
