Wonder if dealerships would allow swapping M235i's wheels with the those of a 228i Sport. The 228's wheels look better. Not sure if there is any structural difference between them.

That might be the case, especially if you're giving up the PSS tires for RFT tires.

One of the reasons I got Sport and not M Sport on my 228i. I've gotten more compliments on the wheels than the car.

If there is no technical issue, a dealer may swap wheels and tires, but it is burdensome for them. The TREAD Act, federal legislation as a result of the Firestone 500 debacle, requires meticulous record-keeping of where tires wind up. The dealer will need to complete certain forms and keep records. If this is important to you and the likelihood of finding another forum member who can meet you on the "next lift" to make a swap work is low, I suggest offering the dealer some incentive to accommodate you. For $500, much less than you would spend for different wheels, you might be amazed what they are willing to do. And, yes, we realize they will probably mark-up your wheels on the recipient car with an "add-on" window sticker. Of course, none of this works after you take delivery. It would have to be while new, in his stock inventory.

Two reasons I opted for Sport line rather than M Sport line: Valencia Orange and the Sport line wheels. I think they're the best looking stock wheels I have seen in a long, long time. You might find someone who wants to trade, but I'd be surprised.

That's somewhat more unlikely. Now, you'd be asking the dealer to break them down and have to remount/rebalance tires balanced on high end OE equipment and take the chance of damage. Now, there's really no incentive for the dealer. Perhaps you might keep your eyes open for a new set of wheels and sell yours afterward for some financial recovery.
