Fuel consumption gauge fault (2011 320i)

Hi,

Ive done some sear h in the forum but nothing conclusive on the topic.

Today when driving home, the windshield washer light came on (which is wierd since its been a long time i dont use it), some moments after i noticed that the fuel consumption gauge (below the RPMs) went crazy, bouncing the needle whenever i was accelerating or not, like it had a mind of its own, and just drove it again now and it keeps acting wierd.

Someone had the same issue? Maybe a sensor or something? Any help will be appreciated!
