06 330i Steptronic

So im driving around town late at night, I decide to go for alittle spirited driving, I go into DS mode, then want to have alittle fun in manual I try to down shift from M2 and it doesn't budge. I won't go into M1, just stays at M2. Upshifting from M2 to higher gears is no problem just no first gear. Any clue to what is going on?

If you're going too fast for 1st gear, meaning if it let you downshift, it would redline the engine, then the car wont let you do so.

+1 to what BMWE90 said. The steptronic is failproof. If you try to downshift at too high of a rpm causing the engine to hit the limiter, the computer wont let you. And once you hit redline accelerating, it will automatically shift up for you as well.

+1. I encountered this the 1st day I drove the car home.

Then I read the manual.

No I pulled over the road, shut the car down, then turned it on, I was stationary. I tried to down shift to M1 when I am stationary and it won't budge.

PS - LOL ive been here since the beginning, Obviously I wouldnt be asking a rookie question I didn't know the answer too.

Then your car has problem. Go to the dealer and check. At stop, the car should be able to down shift to M1.
