Transmission fluid change question
Hey guys its time for me to change my transmission fluid. I drive 07 335i and currently at 92k. So here is my question to anyone who have done this DIY.
how many bottles did you use? new bolts necessary? i've heard when filling the fluid it has to be a certain temp? if yes, how would i check? can i check through INPA? Thanks!! |

You didn't state if it's manual or automatic?

There are DIY's here http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16 and on ytube. If its and automatic its a major job. Look at some of the change kits at burgermotor sports , pelican parts or ecstuning. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=573490 http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E92-335...ion/ES2523894/ Last edited by ctuna; 10-23-2014 at 02:34 AM.. |

Is your car auto because if it is then you have to replace the fluid + pan/filter(they come together). On an auto tranny it is NOT just a simple flush and fill job.

I have a manual and the DIY on this site is great: it's a pretty simple job.

Because that is the proper maintenance procedure for an auto tranny. The filter gets dirty.
Manual setup is different and only requires a flush and fill. http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/tech..._Replacing.htm |

Ha u guys should do a bit more research on this subject before posting false information
For Auto, it is a drain and fill along with changing your pan which it has the filter built in. |

No new bolts required. Torque is only 10 Newtonmeter. You can check via INPA. I checked with my hands. If the fluid dropping from the filling hole feels comfy warm like water in a bath tube it's time to close the filling hole. While topping up and checking keep the motor running in order to have the fluid circulating. If you shut down the engine with the filling hole still open expect at least 2 liters outpouring towards the garage floor |
