Can't get comfortable

I've had my f32 for about 6 weeks now. It is a m sport with the M sports seats. I can't seem to get comfortable it is mainly the left side bolster which seem to be digging in my side. Is it me but the seating position feels a little offset and I'm not sure I'm compensating. My car is a rhd.

Thanks

I doubt there is an offset.

My guess is you sit a little bit shifted to one side and the sport seats are hugging you so tight they are not letting you.

I do wish the 3 series offered a comfort seating package. It's amazing how much more 'lazy boy' the seats are in the 5 series when you go to the comfort seating. In the process of purchasing an X5 and got the Mocha Interior Design package and the napa leather are incredible! I have the coral leather in mine and for driving around town it's awesome, but long trips the seats are definitely a little firm.

As far as adjusting the seats I found that getting the bottom of the seat tilted a little up lets you 'sit in and settle in' the seat a little more - if that makes sense?

I had the same issue, eventually mine when away with use. A lot of my issues went away by adjusting the tilt of the seat.

Perhaps the side bolsters are set to close together?

Try widening them with the adjustment button.

Yesterday I test drove the 335 with the M Sport option and noticed the side bolsters were a little tight (or should I say noticeable) even on the setting where they are in the most open position. The car I test drove had 400 miles ...

I remember driving the 435 Coupe with the same seats at the BMW driving event a few months ago and I didn't notice the side bolsters at all.. not sure of the miles on that car but I do remember the car was well broken in if i had to guess it had at least 8000 miles.

My best guess is these seats will break in to your body, I know new seats in general will break in to the driver.

Maybe someone here who has the sport seat can give their opinion ...

My M-Sport seats have electrically adjustable bolsters. They can be set narrow to hug you tightly in the twisties or wide after a sumptuous lunch. Your choice.

I'm 214 lbs and have no problem with the bolster in my 428IX with sport seats. I sometimes do have to shift myself to the left in the seat not to be centered but rather to have my foot be more aligned with the gas and brake peddle. The sport seats absolutely blow away the regular seats I had in my X1, they where just hard bench seats, everything about the sport seat is superior, comfort, cushioning, fit.

I'm 235 lbs. and have no problems with the sport seats in either my 2013 335i M-Sport or my wife's 2011 128i M-Sport convertible. Both have power seats, although the 128i doesn't have the lumbar support. I usually have the bolsters set all the way "open", and I do tilt the seat bottom back (front up, rear down).

A lot of this seems to be personal preference. I really like the feel of the sport seats on short and long drives, but my passengers complain about the feel of the side bolsters and that the cushions are not "comfy" enough on longer voyages.

But seriously, what car did you come from? I find the BMW seats have a much more sporty setup to them (i.e., built to keep the driver in the right setup for race or active driving). I basically played around with the setup over several weeks until I found my comfort zone.

There's really nothing you can do if there's too much of something that's bothering you... Maybe you can get used to it...

I had a Infiniti G37 Coupe for 3 years and I just could not get comfortable in it... my lower back would hurt because it just felt like something's missing there, regardless of lumbar support... So I drove the car for 3 years with a small cushion on my lower back.

Then I had a Lexus GS F sport, and its seats are the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in... no issues

Then I switched to a 535i Msport with comfort seating package, nappa leather, and just couldn't get comfortable in it... it's just not anywhere near the comfort level of the Lexus... either my neck or my lower back would hurt... eventually after a month, I finally found a solution, basically using a neck pillow on my lower back... somehow that fixes both issues...

Maybe if you feel like one side is unbalance, wonder if there's a way to add something minor to the other side to compensate...
